I've always thought the 100 Floor games are cool for racing, they even show the viewers what floor each person is on to make it easy to follow.   Churatch, Lizardmaster 7.5, and Celebrate the 100 are good examples.

I agree, but there is not a lot we can do.  I made a thread on the official guy forums (Fangame subforum) a few weeks back trying to draw attention.   You can either bump it or make a new one if you want.

Hey guys,

what's the point of this forum besides having alle these crazy new smileys noone with a post count above 2 will ever be using because everyone is hating on them? 

Should I just go and post my games here which would ultimately reach the exact same people I've already reached with posting on the official forums? I am rather confused as to what this is all about. Someone please explain.

First, welcome to the forums.  As someone mentioned these forums are based around the the Twitch.Tv team known as the Wannabes, which is a collection of streamers who play fangames.  Many people on the "official forums" are clueless to the popularity these games have and the growing popularity they are getting on twitch tv.   The entire fangame genre has grown into something far bigger and better than the original game that it deserves to have much more attention than a little sub forum on the official forums.

One of the great things about this community is that many of us have played hundreds of fangames, so you will find a lot of constructive opinions here if you are a game maker looking for feedback.   The other cool thing is that as our influence on twitch tv grows, your game will be seen by a lot more people than it would be just being buried on the official site.   Some of the streamers on this team are capable of drawing sizable viewing audiences, so you will get a lot of exposure, especially if your game is really well made.

You also get a chance to participate with both the people playing your game's in real time, and the people watching on twitch tv, who are often very curious about the games the streamers play.   I hope you will enjoy being a part of this community and help us spread the word.

Medley:  Takes screens from other games with some original content added
Short / Easy / Race:  Low difficulty games often raced, fairly short
Medium / Intermediate:  Medium length moderate amount of difficulty
Long / Epic / Adventure: Long to complete with varying difficulty
100 Floor: Fangames with 100 screens of progressing difficulty
Troll:  Fangames with lots of traps, funny tricks, and gimmicks
Needle: Intricate spike games with advanced jumps
Challenge:  Games for higher skilled players with above average difficulty
Avoidance:  Minimal to no platforming, must dodge attacks with music

Figured I'd post this here as a reference for you so you don't have to remember what I got.   I had a good bit of fat on my run, highlighted it.   Kind of meh VVVVV area, trolled hard in red spike room, minor trollage on Miku, had amazing final stage that I will probably never be able to do again.

Why is everyone hating on gaiden?

For me it was the fact that outside of the first screen (outdoor bionic area), the level design was a complete disaster.  The grappling hook mechanic was used poorly, there are other fangames that have it and use it better.   It's also the fact that the creator seems to be completely ignorant to all the innovations that have happened in fangames since the original.    It has good production value with the music and such, but the gameplay is subpar.  The fact that he made the original game I think blinded a lot of people with hype to the fact that the game is below average outside of the engine.  I guarantee you that if that game had come out without the fanfair of being made by the creator of the original game that a minimal of fucks would have been given over it.

Update incoming in hour, some people have problem because it's too dark, also removed triggers, Para is right, it's supposed to be needle, not trolling game. Also fixed white blocks at the end. Coming in hour as i said before.

The game is needlessly hard to see and look at.   It doesn't make the game harder in any way except to annoy the player of the game.   In a needle game where you are looking intently at the space between spikes, you are adding nothing to the game by making the really hard to look at.

Visuals aside, I do like Ario's style of needle games.   He doesn't resort to a lot of the lazy spike formations that make a game hard that are overused in other games, and has some interesting jumps.
