Maybe it's a tile?
If you click and drag off the tile set you use and then click on screen it places an undefined tile which can't be seen in gamemaker but while playing it shows.

-Sometimes other screens will flash when you hit reset. Because of the way I built certain areas, I don't know if this is possible to fix.


It probably has something to do with the camera object if your using one. Should make it so the code inside of it plays at Room Start so it aligns properly right away before waiting for the first step to play.

That or just add some short duration black screen fade out effect which covers it as a fix.

Dropbox would probably be better for file transferring since multiple people can have the same updated folder at the same time. The idea is interesting though.

Your way is actually fine. I usually do the same thing but use a controller object depending on the stage to switch the sprites of the default spikes on room start since I have so much other stuff going on but it's basically the same way you do it.

Either way I think both ways are much more efficient at tilting spikes since their such a common asset used in these games it's worth just having code dedicated to changing by some special method.
I thought your way sounded much better in the long run. I'm guessing you did something like this?
