Fangames with music in .ogg format don't actually play the music

Hey guys, I got a small problem with some fangames.
Whenever I download a game that has music in .ogg format (for example Cultured), the music just doesn't work. I can easily hear all the shooting and jumping sounds but music is gone. I tried redownloading the game and updating/reinstalling my sound drivers. Anyone has an idea how could I fix this problem?
I'm using Windows 8.1 by the way.

did you try the dmsynth fix from this thread? it's audio related so might have a chance of working...

Do you have codec prepared? Ogg codecs are usually not built in, so you have to download it somewhere.

Yeah I downloaded .ogg codecs from xiph.org and the music still doesn't work.
