https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/2050xm/metal_gear_the_complete_story/

As i analyzed this, i know he didn't include Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain into the timeline to prevent spoilers, though the games release has been months ago, this does need an update because there is a heavy detail in Phantom Pain that effects the original Metal Gear, the main problem with Phantom Pain in the timeline is that it is unfinished and in a sense very "undetailed" with the details and time jumps MGSV, as one of the things that happen is that the time flash forwards to the original metal gear in 1995, and the game itself before the ending takes place in 1984, as for Major Zero there are a lot of conflicting details here as well, see the truth tapes in phantom pain for more details, though they are about 45 minutes long so grab a drink or some food and listen to it, some of the tapes are very detailed and on that note, a bit sad.

Phantom Pain being, under detailed per se, you don't know how Diamond Dogs breaks up for one thing, and I will have some spoiler details down here because spoiling the game is a mean thing to do unless you want it spoiled yourself.

I wanted to keep it tl;dr, just for cutting the time short. Agreeably, its outdated; this being said, it's always better to play the games yourself, rather than to spoil the entire story arc, which can be explained (intricately) within the games themselves. Just a pro:tip.

Keeping it simple, i do agree, though the story arc for Metal Gear literally makes no sense having played 1, 2, 3, and both parts of V. I've seen Metal Gear Solid 4, and uhhh, adding that with the Phantom Pain nothing makes sense in the story anymore :p

Though in a way 3-V weren't planned from the beginning per se if i remember correctly, so everything after the events of MGS2 were supposed to be interpretations really, I also heard something about Rising originally supposed to be taking place between 2 and 4 where

but who really knows, i just heard about it.
