Mario
Stay in the middle for the first wave, the goombas can’t hurt you when they’re in the air.
For the second wave stand on the edges and then move once you see the goomba land, the spiny will kill you even if it’s in the air.
When the goomba dies a fireball will shoot waves across the floor, killing the spiny.
The spiny will always fly to the right when it dies.
Stay on the edges when the hammers spawn and pay close attention to how they bounce, if they bounce on a wall they will bounce up and to the opposite direction.
Start killing the goombas once the hammers go back to their inital position after bouncing on the wall. You can easily jump over the hammers if they’re too much of a hassle to go under.
Once again, it will spawn a fireball that shoots waves once all goombas are dead, the hammers disappear as soon as the fireball hits the ground.
Beezlebub & Malice
Malice will spawn on either the right or left side so you need to stay in the middle once this starts. Head to the opposite wall of Malice and hug it. Make very small movements to dodge the circles by Malice. If you have to you can move towards Malice instead of trying to do a precise jump through.
Zelda
Start in the middle between the Tektites. You can grab the first rupee before they jump if you want to but do not prioritise grabbing them over survival, learn when it’s best to ignore the rupees and wait for them to come around the other side. Grabbing them right away is not always the best option since they will bounce on the walls.
During the Octoroks you barely want to move at all, play close attention to them and let the rupees come to you.
The Keese are very complicated and being 100% consistent at them is basically impossible. They’re very random and you never know what they’re going to do. Begin by jumping up in between the first and second keese from the left. Then move over to the right under the third keese and keep running for about a second. Jump over all the keese to the left and start improvising. If they’re all spread out you should try to bunch them together by jumping up and down, this can be very tricky and takes a lot of practice. If 2 of them are slow and 1 is coming towards you, you can jump over the close one near the wall, curve around it on the left and jump over all of them. You need a lot of practice on improvising and grabbing the rupees. Remember survival > grabbing rupees.
Miku
This part is nowhere near as bad as it looks. Start off by holding right as you get pulled in. Once you’re under the right edge of the lower left platform start going to the left and jumping over the apple that is coming towards you. Keep tapping left (don’t go too slow!) and then jump up on the first platform. Wait there for about 1.5-2 seconds then jump up to the second. Once an apple is close to you, start doing very slow jumps by jumping back and forth between the left wall and the platforms. The first jump after going up on the second platform is very precise as if you mess it up even a little bit there will be an apple directly on the platform. It’s not random just takes a lot of practice to get this right. Once you’re at the top you want to quickly jump over the last 2 apples that are on the platform. Move about a block back and jump AFTER the 3 apples explode, then move back to the left and do the same. The timing on this can be a little tricky but you’ll get the hang of it.
Now fall down and get ready for the hardest part of the miku. Here you need very quick reactions and coming up with a strategy fast is crucial. Once she starts shooting directly at you, you don’t always need to hold left, you can push right, jump (not recommended), or even tap left if necessary. Keep in mind that even though if feels like the RNG is screwing you over a lot; it’s really not and you just need practice.
Metroid
By far the hardest part of the fight, the 50 second metroid survival is no joke. It’s harder than solgryn phase 3 in my opinion.
Let’s start off by explaining when stuff is going to happen.
Bats from the top start at 49 seconds.
Bats from the right start at 40 seconds.
Platform rises at 34 seconds.
First kid head appears at 32 seconds.
First lava appears at 28 seconds.
Kid head goes away at 26 seconds.
Second lava appears at 22 seconds.
Third lava appears at 16 seconds
Second kid head appears at 11 seconds.
Fourth lava appears at 10 seconds.
Second kid head goes away at 5 seconds.
Fifth lava appears at 4 seconds.
The top bats will spawn at a random X position at the top of the screen. They move at about 75% of your speed and try to go towards you.
The right bats will spawn at a random Y position at the lower right wall. They start off by moving down, straight and then up. Don’t be afraid of going under the first 3 bats, don’t try to go under the fourth one unless you’re hugging the wall and it’s high up.
This is when the fight really starts, the kid head will appear and start shooting bullet hell while you still have the bats from the top and the right to deal with. Do not be afraid of going towards the kid head if you need to. There’s more space than you might think. Retreating to the left is not always a valid option. 2 seconds before the kid head goes away the first lava appears. You must be prepared for this and you need to pay attention to the timer. Do NOT jump before the lava appears as you will not have enough air time to make it over before it disappears. The lava will rise every 6 seconds for the remainder of the fight. Continue juking the bats until the second kid head appears. The lava will rise almost immediately after the head. Unfortunately the “DIE!” in the middle can be a problem trying to see the kid pieces that the head shoots. Once again do not be afraid of going towards the head if necessary. When the kid head goes away remember that there’s still 1 more lava wave before it’s over. This one can easily catch you offguard and you must be paying close attention to the timer. Everything disappears as soon as the 1 counts down, there’s no 0.
To summarise the phase, pay attention to the bats on the top, go under the bats on the right if necessary. Go towards the kid head if necessary, pay attention to the timer for the lava as it appears every 6 seconds and most importantly, stay calm and focused. This is by FAR the hardest part of this boss and the next one in my opinion.
Remember, the 4 second lava catches almost everyone off guard, do not celebrate too early.
And do not blame the RNG for your mistakes, I have only seen 1 impossible situation ever.
Good luck!
