Keeping Calm?
« on: September 08, 2015, 04:18:28 PM »
Hey, I've been grinding k2's boss rush for about a month now, and still haven't beaten any. I die a lot to the end of Crimson, since I'm mainly focusing on that boss first. Does anyone have any tips to keep calm during the final few hits of a long boss like this? I just want this to end! :atkCry:

For me streaming helps, knowing that there are people watching me play definitely keeps me in check in those times where frustration can win out.

I try not to view dying as a failure but rather being a step closer to the goal. Try to not look at health bars of the bosses frequently, it'll distract you. It's a normal thing to get nervous near the end of bossfights, but you should focus on beating the boss itself, rather than distracting your mind with saying things like "If die know I'm gonna cry" etc. When I do that I don't get extremely frustrated when I choke at the last attack, because I am aware that it's just another ordinary death, just like the others.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet - just have fun.

Honestly, when I was grinding out K2's boss rush (or any hard segment, really), I enjoy talking to my chat about non-related things and just having a good time. Whether it's memes, food talk, or something else, it's always fun to just casually get your mind off of the grind at-hand while you slowly develop muscle memory. Eventually, you'll beat it without even realizing you improved at all!

If you despise the bossgrind you will only last 10, 20 or maybe 50 hours and then simply burnout from the game. If you like to play it/have fun with it you actively try to understand several details of the bosses which you were missing before because you just labeled it as "bullshit death".

Having fun and a game to switch off to if you notice that you become unconcentrated/frustrated is the best way to go.

Thanks for all the replies! Unfortunately, I might not be able to stream since I can only use my laptop.  :atkCry: But, if I can figure out a way to do it without something like K2 lagging to 30 fps, I'll give that a shot. Otherwise, I'll try to just stop playing when I get salty and go from there. Again, thanks so much for the advice!
