Help with this screen of Kamilia 2

I don't know if this is the place to post this as the help section doesn't seems to be more about the forums.

I'm having trouble with the circled area of this screen. Whenever I attempt to wall jump here I always run into the spikes to the side. I've been stuck at this screen for an hour already, and no matter what I do I can't go up without running into the spikes. Is there a trick for doing small wall jumps?

you can keep left held down, and just quickly tap right when jumping. gl
