I Wanna Be The Micromedley

I Wanna Be The Micromedley is a WarioWare inspired half adventure half medley game! It was my first major project and took about 6-7 months to complete. Each of the seven stages is themed differently, from gimmicks, to needle, to bosses. Give it a try, and let me know if you have any suggestions or find any bugs.

This game is really great, save for a few bugs. I recommend people wait for him to update before playing because it has a couple game breaking bugs right now.

I enjoyed what I could play (which was not a lot, given my various skill deficiencies,) and the effort you put in is clear, but I felt like I spent a huge amount of time watching various transition screens (the level title card when I restart, the spinning globe, etc.) It really compounded my annoyance at dying to have to watch all that over and over, so being able to skip those bits too would be really nice.

The only bug I found was that when you load a save, you have to watch the door in the middle open and closer before you can start, even though you load on the far left of the hub.

I'll have a new version fixing game breaking bugs up sometime Saturday morning. It's pretty unlikely that you'll run into any of the bugs, but feel free to wait for an update.

I died during Boss 2's fourth? screen (Two lives left) when falling down the shaft on the right side and nailing the middle spike and it black screened just playing the music. Pressing Suicide restarted the music, I wasn't able to get out of the black screen without restarting the game.
Boss 2 is just flat out broken, might be wise to wait for an update if you plan on playing after Stage 1.

If you die at all to boss 2, you need to reset the game and play the stage again. Pretty annoying, considering how long the stages are.

Also, another issue I've found is that when you spawn you can move immediately while the screen un-darkens, but you can't jump for the first few frames of movement. This makes for quick deaths in certain spots if you react fast, such as the solo fruit that chases you in Stage 2.

Played ver1.4

Really surprised how much controls are messed up in this game.
I don't play on standart controls, so i rebound it to comfortable to me and noticed some unpleasant things.
Not really annoying: even with rebound controls, you need use "shift" in save select screen and Up arrow to enter stages.
Mega-annoying: even if you reound controls, you must use arrow keys vs "Dj Sray". Very strange decision.

Also on boshy->dark boshy fight you still getting teleported to right upper corner even if you stay down-right and must be teleported in left upper corner. + Shuriken hitboxes needs to be fixed.

Tons of problems with "Geezer Boss" (not sure final or not). It have (at least) 2 saves. You hit first save for start boss fight but it's not saving your position. Restart button not work at all. And most depressing thing - if you restart the game (or it crashed like it happens 2 times already for me) - bye bye boss, get to room with doors and start the boss again from the first save... Why the hell?!

I can fix most of the control rebind issues, but some of them I can't really change due to how game maker works. I'll release a final version sometime this week that should fix more minor bugs and improvements. Thanks for playing :)

Well, it looks pretty cool, but the game immediately crashes after the "Gimmick" text goes away and it zooms in on Geezer's face. I have Windows 7 and I haven't had any problems with other games. I can't seem to find anybody else that has this problem, so I'm not really sure what my problem is.

Alright, final version is uploaded. Thanks everyone for playing and downloading so far, people's reaction to Micromedley surpassed all my hopes and I'm glad to have made it.  :atkHappy:

That said, if anyone finds any bugs that crash the game, please let me know and I'll be forced to return to the GMK once again :p
