This could be due to a variety of reasons, most often it being something corrupted in the game itself (sprite, etc.), or it has something to do with large the game is.
I recently found a solution to it, although it kinda messes with you computer temporarily: go to the application's properties, and change the color options (can't remember exactly what to though, can't check because I'm on a phone). That should do it.
If that doesn't work, then I don't know what will other than trying to redownload the game or asking the maker(s) to recompile it.
