It doesn't seem to be up for purchase and from what I've googled it seemed to have been removed around the 12th.

It seems GM 8.1 is gone, based on what I read on their home page

This makes me wonder if the license isn't required anymore since you can't purchase it.

I think it's officially abandonware. So if you want to pirate it I think at this point it's fair game. Alternatively me and klazen are close to releasing a IWBTG studio engine.

There's been a weird bug happening when you open gamemaker where it opens multiple processes until it starts. It's definitely a good idea to switch to studio as soon as possible.

I've been having that bug as well. I guess studio is finally going to be the new standard for people who don't have 8.1 and don't want to pirate it.

I think if you have the link the installer zip is still in the site's files and also I have a license key if anyone wants... found it on a youtube video.
EDIT: It's actually now completely gone. But if anyone needs that license key I still have it.
