Something to do with a laptop keyboard
« on: July 25, 2015, 11:52:45 PM »
I've been having to use a laptop for the past week or two for stuff, and recently I've noticed something.

When using AutoHotKey, sometimes other buttons won't respond, most notably the left directional key. This only happens when I have the two shift keys pressed and held down at the same time, yet it doesn't do so with the right directional key. Also, when I hold down one of the shift keys and the left directional key, the other shift key won't respond.

Is there an explanation to why this is happening? Is there a fix as well?

This sounds like it could be a case of keyboard ghosting, wherein a set of keys uses the same wires, and pressing too many at once results in no more keys in that set being read. Sadly this is a hardware limitation, there's no way around it other than to get a new keyboard

Ah ok, thanks Klazen; guess I'll just have to get used to this amazing timing and forget everything I know about using my mechanical keyboard arre
