The 2014 Fangame Awards

That's right folks! It's the end of the year, and 2014 has been a great year for fangames.

We have seen many fantastic (and not so fantastic) fangames released this year, from needle games to medley games.
And behind these works of art are their creators. And that brings us to the first prize, fangame of the year!



The nominees for this award are:
  • Not Another Needle Game, a 100(?) floor game made by Thenewgeezer
  • I wanna find my destiny, an adventure game made by Brodyaga
  • I wanna get Cultured, a Medley game made by Pieceofcheese and Paragusrants
  • I wanna get Rekt, a Boss medley made by Klazen and TJ
  • I wanna be GENKI with you, a spiritual experience by はぐれけだま
  • Super Kid bros 3, a Mario inspired fangame by Sephalos
  • I wanna be the Chair 2, a WIP adventure game by Stinkycheese
  • I wanna take the Time Machine 2, a WIP adventure game by Influka
  • I wanna be the Permanence 2, a medley/adventure game (collaboration)
  • I wanna Reach Heaven, a challenging adventure game by Kadykunde
  • I wanna be the Crysis, an adventure game by トンコツ
  • I wanna be the LoveAE-RYRC, a 100F game by EightyThree
And an honorable mention, I wanna be the Crimson Needle by kalemandu.

This year has also held some interesting fangames, and drama caused by fangames in the community, which brings us to the second award,
Scumbag of the Year!



The nominees for Scumbag of the year are:
  • Keffi, Known for his trap games I wanna be the Forehead and its sequel.
  • PDPlayer, known for his untested needle games and the Series Z games.
  • Kamilia, known for the Kill the Kamilia series, and not finishing his damned game.
  • Stinkycheese, known for the Weston Douglas jones series (sorry cheese)
  • Infernoman, known for a lot of needle games that he probably didn't test himself.
  • Yosniper, known for his excellent moustache that makes everyone around him jealous.
  • Rosegear guy, known for his great music choices and interesting level design.
  • Explorer Guy, known for the I wanna be the Explorer series.
  • Just, known for Happil 2 and his participation in Series Z.
  • B-J_Ireaf, known for intricate spike games and abuse of the Kamilia 3 background.
And an honorable mention, Plynq. He made Kamilia mad.

While S needle series weren't originally tested, (or that one 1map game I released for a day), I have tried to get better at testing every game I make and make sure everything is possible, even if it is difficulty is rather obscure do to my uncanny ability of beating the hardest jumps in games while utterly failing at others (Rip the last jump in room 78 in Crimson Needle). Just a little fyi, otherwise a good list.

Although if anything you should've included me for bashing on almost any fangame containing a boss with RNG in it :Kappa:

I have no idea what to put here.

Anyway, a lot of things have changed to myself in the past. I wont visit the forum much, but i will check out the streams once in a while.

Kamilia's + games are worse than anything PDPlayer did in my opinion, also all of PDPlayer's needle are possible except go out 2 which is an extremely old game of his. Honestly for scumbag of the year its between Kamilia and Yosniper.

For Fangame of the year,  idk, let me do process of elimination.

I would Remove Rekt (I'm hitler now xD), Cultured (Not Taking a hammer to it this time), LoveAE-RYC (Good, but eh, not really special per say to me.) Crysis (This isn't too memorable to me either).

I have not played find my destiny though it does not look like my cup of tea, i also have not played, Reach Heaven just seems, a bit, ehh, average for me, Kady has made better stuff in the future like RZ Hard Mode, Genki is really good, same with permanence 2, though i think Time Machine 2 will be the topper, it's just really well made and everything, looks nice, gameplay is nice, that's about it, there is my 2 cents on this fake thing lol.
