I was captivated by this PMV the other day, and I thought about those timed survive-a-thon bosses. I thought how epic a boss battle like this would be, so I thought I'd share it with you guys, and see what you had to say about it.
(Imagine the platforms that you stand on yourself, and imagine that everything kills you)

It shouldn't be /that/ hard to make something with this quality. I'd bet I could do it within a couple of weeks if I didn't have school.

Too much mindfuck for me to be able to copy any of this, especially because I can't tell what is supposed to kill you and what is supposed to just be there for effect.

Well, I gave it a shot. The biggest problem is desynchronizing when doing heavy calculation.
I tried making some automatic algorithms that just create the boss based on the sound channels of the background music. However, this only seems to be possible if I initialize the whole boss through a multi-dimensional array beforehand.
It's for things like these that I wish game maker supported pointer operators.

multi-dimensional array
No Idea what that is but sounds cool. :Kappa:

It's an Array inside of an Array :MVGame:

So what were you planning on using for this? Gamemaker? Some other language?
