Title: Legend of the Cookie
Post by: az09A on August 24, 2016, 05:25:33 PM
Hello everyone, I'm new on board and I'm here to tell you about LOTC, Legend of the Cookie, an Indie game wich has a simple point : a level editor for I wanna be the guy.
This is no fan game, it's an entirely new game based upon the try 'n' die we all know and love.
LOTC has a simple hud, you can use your own sprites and, in top of that, you can uprade your game with a simple code language called lua, with wich you can create basically everything (there is already a dance level available in the default levels selection).
This game is made for people who want to express themselves through a die and retry game and it's entirely free!

You can download it at this url https://lethalpixels.com/

There is a french forum at this adress (and no other) https://forum-fr.lethalpixels.com/

and a reddit page httpss://www.reddit.com/r/legendofthecookie/

Note: Actually I haven't made this game the creator is a youtuber called William aka Willong

You've clearly put a lot of effort into this project, but I'm not exactly sure what this offers people more of compared to downloading GM:S and an already-existing fangame engine. Nonetheless, good luck on your work!

The physics engine in this game is awful. Jumping just feels unnatural and the gravity is too high. I can't even make simple spike jumps like this one (https://prntscr.com/ca2kkc). The IWBTG community is very accustomed to the established physics and if you're going to say the game is an IWBTG level editor please use the correct physics or at least make them close

Dear pieceofcheese87, I'm sorry you're confused with the physics, but I haven't made this game. I'm also sorry that you can't finish this level (made by an user) only because it hasn't the exact same physics than a game you've played. Many people actually passed that level. LOTC is an entirely different game based upon, for exemple, I Wanna be the Guy. Please don't complain on me for your insufficent skill.

Jumps are different because it's a different game.

I'm saying the game isn't fun at all because the controls and physics are wonky. And I had no way of telling if you were the creator or not.

This game was obviously inspired by IWBTG fangames (see: jump refreshers) but it does the physics very poorly. Fangames are very precision based and the engine allows for precision because it is smooth. This game is not smooth at all and is not built for precision based levels.

Next time you should say it immediatly that you haven't made the game, so people wouldnt give you their opinion. And not edit it later in and ranting on people giving feedback. Stay classy  :ZreknarF:
