I.. won't be able to keep my sanity if this keeps happening half of the time. I can't find a solution or a reason

Seems like the game might have a v-alien issue maybe.  Either way, just do it without using the walk-off.

If the platform is moving at a fractional speed (e.g. 1.5) then that might be the culprit. But yeah, just do it without the walk-off.
