Title: Fangames stopped working on my pc, help plz

This has just recently happend to me.  I am running windows 7 and now whenever i try to load a fangame, it just never loads, just the mouse arrow with the loading circle.  This seemed to happen after i downloaded and ran ccleaner, but im not sure if that is what is causing this.  If i go into task manager, the game shows up 3 times and i cannot end the process.  Any ideas?

the first thing you should do is test your hard drive with Seatools or something, and make sure you have backup.

Do you use avast ?

I do have avast, but usually avast will ask me first when i load a fangame.  Also it is not every game.  Serial Experiments Kid works, but most do not work.

Thanks ill disable avast for a sec and try again.

I have exactly the same issue.

I've been playing fangames for years and since a month or two my windows 7 never loads the games. They appears in the process list but don't load up.


Has something changed in the recent fangames ? As i can load the old ones...

Any help would be much appreciated :)


!!! EDIT : I figured out that my games were stopping only when i launch them from my SSD. If i move the game folder to my data HardDrive everything's fine.
