Just a random idea, sorry if this was discussed before or maybe is a thing already lol. Maybe you guys could host a community voting or something like that. Winners could get some kind of virtual prizes, special mentions on www.delicious-fruit.com/ or something like that?

Hmm... nah I don't like this idea. Can't imagine someone devoting their time into reaching Boshy level of production value while keeping the difficulty fair, only for it to fall behind some other game.

I don't mean people make a game only to submit it for this. That would be more like YoSnipers contest. I am talking about the community picking the best games that were made during the entire year.

It would be cool if there was an award for different categories, eg:
Best game
Best needle game
Best avoidance
Best adventure
Best troll
Best boss
Best 100F
Hopefully it would help people find a lot of good new games.

I like the idea and its a good way for new and old players alike to see games they may have missed that year.

Having a top 3 or something for each category is definitely a net positive in my book. It helps new players find these sometimes hidden gems as well as promote gamemakers and inspire them to make more games.

Best graphics
Best music
Most annoying gimmick
Most blatant ripoff
Most indimidating ridiculously hard looking needle aids screen

I think it's better to focus on the positive. I'd rather not promote bad games.

fair enough, it might be fun to have a few joke awards but I agree that it is unfair to give game makers any impression that their efforts are not appreciated.
