BINGO discussion
« on: October 21, 2014, 12:48:03 PM »
If you have any question, suggestions or criticism about the BINGO, feel free to post here!

Please don't post any Goal suggestions, thank you :FrankerZ:

Edit:

Because I'm not able to test if BINGO games are Windows 8 compatible, I ask you guys to report every game here which crashes in Win 8.
Klazen is willing to implement a feature soon™ to seperate these goals if the participants wish to do so.

Current known games which crash:

-Scapegoat
-Justice
-Reduction

Before the race starts, every participant can take a closer look at the card and choose a
row or a column she/he wants to play.

That's not how it normally works :S

The problem is that we race different games and don't have an intro to decide for a "route". Also some goals require you to copy some saves around so I think this is a better solution.

You don't need an intro, half the fun is figuring out the optimal row while playing. I used to do dustforce bingo where we would start playing as soon as the card was linked

Just throwing in my 2chainz here:

Starting as soon as the card is linked is quite fun, as it forces the player to think about their "optimal" route in a small amount of time. Planning beforehand takes away a bit of the strategy involved with bingo!

But how do you want to start so quickly? I mean of course you can just start with a random goal on the card but this would force the player to play a certain row or the column connected to the one game you picked randomly.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind doing it this way you two have suggested, but the way the Fangame Bingo works is differently than other Bingo games.

Just let the racers/host of the individual race decide for themselves. Bingo is such an open system that people should find their own "hometable rules".

Even when it comes to the official round on friday night, we should look first with what everybody is comfortable and then adjust the rules according to that and the usual common sense.

There are not enough Needle goals, so a lot of the needle cards would be very similar.

As it is now, there's only 10-15 needle goals for each short/medium/long difficulty, so a needle-only bingo would have to have goals repeated on the card :wixSanic: That being said, the code is still there for needle-only goals, so if people want to sit down and time out enough goals to fill the category then it would be easy to add a needle-only bingo!

For me, half the fun of the dustforce bingo was the first 2 minutes, figuring out the optimal row as fast as you can is what kept me doing bingo. It just made it a lot more fun imo.

Wait, have all the games been tested for Windows 8 crashes?
I don't want to get screwed over in a race because I can't play certain games. :x

No, they weren't tested. I always tried to pick windows 8 compatible version but I can't promise all of them are running.
Feel free to post every game you find here, which crashes on Win 8 tho.

TJ crashed today on Scapegoat - there's a section where blocks break all at once and that's enough to do it.

So if anyone else notices a game that might crash, let us know. I'll work to implement something to prevent future headaches  :atkHappy:
