Man, i was so hyped for this game really wanted to play it but even the second link doesnt work for me. There is always: Unexpected error occured when running the game. This is already the 3rd game i cant play beacuse of this. :atkCry: What did i do wrong?

Unfortunately, since rekt runs at pretty much the limits of game maker, it can bug out on some computers and not run. What are your specs? I might be able to optimize it more for you.

Game has been updated to 1.002!
Patch addresses a LOT of balance/bug fixes, primarily in stage 4. Also bug fixes across all stages. Enjoy Get Rekt!

That does not answer Klazen's question at all. What hes asking you is what is on your computer, what components does it have, and or, specs.

Oh,sorry there.My english might not be that good.So, the computer i download it has got openSuse.The one where i run it then is Windows XP. I just still dont understand what exactly you mean with components and specs. Even Google Translator cant help me there. Im sorry.

So, i believe i have a bit of a problem :cirPrise:
After updating to 1.004 this morning via the autopatcher, it appears that the bin folder, which holds all the game stuff, either didn't get downloaded or just ceased to exist.

It's not like it's detrimental as i still have the binOld file, which contains the previous version of Rekt, and my saves are fully intact. I just figured I'd post about it here, as I am somewhat confused as to how it happened. :atkWut:

I threw a bunch of messages into the autopatcher for various potential failures, so if you saw one it would be helpful. (There may not have been one, the same thing happened to TJ once and I figured it was just a fluke)
As for fixing the issue, you can manually download the latest version from this thread (use the second link), or you can delete your settings.ini file and the autopatcher will redownload everything for you.

To add to this - make sure you do not delete your save folder. If you are afraid you might alter it/lose it, please make a backup of your save folder and save it somewhere on your computer that you won't lose it. We would hate to see someone lose their progress ;_;

Regarding a possible error message, i never got one when i downloaded the update from the autopatcher, and whenever i open it now it just says it detects the newest update and does nothing. I'll probably just download it off the mirror site, but thanks for the help!

I hate to say it but I actually do not like that game mechanic, it was funny the first time, but just the first time.
I know you can react to it, but the thing is you're never prepared for the spider and if you're going for flawless run, you will lose it just because of that spider.

Klazen sent me the achievement list i'm completely aware of it, however it still can fuck you over in a flawless run 0 deaths or not, so you can't use stage 1 as an excuse. If i were to list examples where the spider would catch you completely unprepared, you have 5 deaths in stage 2 and are at the last boss of the stage, you get a spider and are unprepared, gg.
I'm sorry there is just, nothing good to say about this spider, i know it is a low chance of spawning but it still can happen and usually you're never prepared. Though not the "worst" game mechanic, though sadly enough, it is far down there in my list of opinions. I don't think I've ever seen anyone react to the spider as a matter of fact, i'm sure people have done it, but I've never seen it done.
Though, stage 1 flawless is the only thing you had to say about it? I hate to say it, but that's a very weak defense on the mechanic, you can easily get around it and still argue it for later stages because like i said, it adds 1 to that death counter and will make things harder for you and make you more cautious.

That freaken spider, laughed way too hard the first time it killed me, and the other 4 times as well. My luck is awful already, but it killed me 5 times before I reached the end of stage 2. It's a nice reminder that you can get killed any time and gives a good humorous break in between bosses.

Ok keep the spider, fine, that's your choice, I'm trying to give opinions and if you wont take it fine, your call, there are other people out there who feel the same way i do.
However are you actually trying to get me pissed off? I take some of the community seriously, the games however, it depends, I look at gameplay, if the game has a good trap or troll or joke, ok props to it, I do let loose when I play a game, however I can't lie about this, you just made yourself look like an asshole.
I understand that gaming is about fun, but getting achievements, your giving me a vibe where your saying that going for 100% is not fun? I expected more along the lines of: Thank you for being honest with me, but I'm not changing the spider for this and this reason. You didn't have to flat out say that i take games too seriously, in that case, i'm sorry for saying a negative thing about the game. But keep in mind, just because i said the spider was only funny the first time and none at all after, doesn't mean i take games too seriously, it means i have a different taste in jokes, very big difference.
Like i said though, i'm sorry for being honest

Could a compromise be reached by - if there is a new version coming out - lowering the probability of the spider spawn even more, or making spider deaths not add to the counter?

I don't want to turn this thread into an argument with something as silly as one of the most RNG jokes in the game. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Fact of the matter is that I'm not taking it out of the game. If there is ever an update to tweak things, the spider will most likely have its probability kept, which is around 0.3%. This isn't what the game is about - it's about having fun. So please, if you're not having fun with the game, just don't play it. Attacking me on my own game's thread is poor, and completely off-topic. I'm asking this be the end of this conversation, and if it needs to be furthered, you can PM me either here or on Twitch.
And @Shadows - hah, that's incredibly bad luck! How many deaths did you have up to that point?

Wow! The chance of getting a spider on any given death is 0.3%, so you should average around 250 deaths for every spider ... dang son.

If you would seriously care about getting the x-ranks you wouldn't complain about the spider. Other games pulled far more bullshit than a 0.3 % chance to ruin your attempt on an entirely optional achievement.
For everybody who doesn't go for 100% it is a fun addition to the game.
A stage run takes like 15 minutes at maximum. Just reset and try again.

Hello, I downloaded your game recently and have been having a blast with it. I haven`t played many fangames, so it was fun to get to try out many different forms of gameplay all in one game. Also a great concept with all the imaginitive bosses, it really keeps the game fresh and makes me try one more time to see what crazy boss pops up next.
I`m on level four now on the avoidance boss, which seems pretty doable. Just wanted to say good job on the game really, I wouldn`t mind to see what else you can come up with!

Thanks, man! Interestingly enough, Klazen and I have really put our minds together to non-fangame ideas, such as del-fruit and the FGM! But we really appreciate the feedback, we hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
